The Stewardship Committee was so blessed to have found a model program and mentors from the St. Louis program. We now have the concept and the tools to carry out our mission. But there is one guiding spirit that the members always knew is part of our mission, that is, the guiding spirit of God. "Without Spirituality, there is no Stewardship." The gospel calls us to be disciples of Christ, a Eucharistic people. Disciples give thanks to God for the gifts they receive and they strive to share them with others. As a Stewardship Committee, the members felt that in order to live out the Gospel and be an example to our parish community, we needed to develop spirituality as individuals and as a committee. Each of the members exemplifies his/her spirituality in many ways such as attending daily Masses or belonging to prayer groups. As a committee, we have made it a practice to begin and end each meeting with a prayer. Each year, we immerse ourselves in a day-long retreat to hear more on topics such as Prayer Personalities, A Venture in Stewardship, The Goodness of God, and Holy Listening. It is the hope of the committee to grow in the grace and love of God and our fellowmen through commitment to Christian stewardship.
